- Match the strap position. A convertible bra set to sit where the tank's straps sit, or crossed for a racerback, keeps everything under the fabric.
- Go strapless for the thinnest straps. If the tank's straps are narrower than your bra straps, no amount of adjusting hides them, so remove the straps altogether.
- Choose a flesh tone under light fabric. Under white or pale tanks, a bra closest to your skin tone shows far less than black or white.
- Mind the sides and back. Deep arm holes reveal the side of the band, so a smooth, seam-free style looks cleaner than a lace or heavily-seamed one.
Fit still matters
Whichever style you pick, it only works if it fits, and a strapless especially relies on a firm band since there are no straps to help. A quick way to sense-check the band is the two-finger rule, you should be able to slide two fingers under the band at the back with a little resistance, no more and no less.
